The 2 Pillar Approach
Workouts
The workouts I provide are challenging but anyone can do them. Beginner to advanced athletes can follow this program to achieve maximum results in the gym. The Bridal Fitness Program will combine use of cardio and weight training to achieve maximum results. If you’re just getting started- this program is for you.
Nutrition
This will be the ultimate key to unlocking your maximum potential. Not only does the program tell you what and how to eat, it will teach you how to maximize fat loss. Whether you need to simply cut down a bit, or lose a good portion of fat- we are in this together! The program will give you a shopping list of my favorite groceries, and guide you through things like intermittent fasting to speed up your progress.
A Natural Program
Chances are, when you started looking for a fitness program, you simply typed in “weight loss or fitness” in Pinterest or Google. You were likely met with images of women with ripped abs, shredded biceps and insane back muscles. While results like that are possible, this fitness program is about getting sustainable results and doing it the right way.
Unfortunately today, so many people rely on drugs like steroids or illegal supplements to get the appearance of being physically fit. This has caused so much confusion for women. People that are often relying on steroids, will give advice that doesn’t work for those who don’t take these illegal supplements. Steroids significantly alter your body and how it processes calories and converts muscle. You wouldn’t believe how many fitness models and athletes take this path. I am here to stop the noise.

How Weight Fluctuates
I am sure you have heard all of the debates about whether or not to weigh yourself. While so many people say “ditch the scale”, others find it valuable. I am still a big believer in using scales to measure our weight, but you have to be educated on how our body weight fluctuates.
The main culprit to understand is water. I remember the days when I would eat a perfect diet and see amazing results. Then on a Friday night I came home and had a milkshake. The next morning the scale said I was 4 pounds heavier. Stress shot up, my diet fell a part, and once again I was miserable. Now I know that gaining 4 pounds of fat is physically impossible with one meal. The way we eat and drink plays a huge part in how are body retains water. Large fluctuations in our diet or eating patterns is when we see our weight reflect numbers that don’t make sense.
I will teach you about weight and fluctuation, as well as preventing the feeling of being bloated. These will be keys to your satisfaction and true success during your dress fitting and day of wedding.
Meditation and Mental Wellness
Meditation and mental wellness has been a huge part of my ongoing fitness journey. Meditation is a proven way to manage stress levels which will be so important as your planning your wedding and beyond. The increase of stress during the planning phases of a wedding can result in weight gain due to stress eating and cortisol. Not only will you benefit from meditation physically by gaining control of your emotions and controlling food cravings by reducing stress- you can sustain your results. I want you to feel empowered to be the best you throughout your journey both before and after your ceremony.
Alcohol and Fitness 101
My goal is to give you the straight-forward and honest advice when it comes to alcohol. There are significant ramifications to drinking, and ultimately you will need to make the decision of whether it fits into your plan. The truth, alcohol must be processed before all other calories in your system. That means if you eat food with alcohol, your body won’t start burning off the calories from food until the alcohol calories are burned. Alcohol is also loaded with calories. Even some of the cleanest drinks like wine or hard liquor with water are empty calories that will make becoming fit far more difficult.
When I look back at my highs and lows of peak performance and physical appearance- it’s when I significantly cut or removed alcohol from my diet. In addition to the calories, alcohol makes you crave food and wrecks your will power. I am human too! I have made the mistake of drinking and ending up at a restaurant late at night to eat fried food and sugar. There are many other side effects of alcohol like its impact on your sleep, metabolism and hormones. The worst is when you are hungover the next day, skip the gym, and the blows keep coming.
If you are going to drink, you have to accept the consequences. One glass of dry red wine, or an occasional water and vodka etc. won’t ruin your diet, but beyond 3 or 4 drinks will. Think carefully about your end goal standing at the alter while your best friends and family admire your hard work and progress – is it worth abstaining?
Nutrition
As I have mentioned, I love both physical and mental wellness. Just like the physical workouts, the Bridal Fitness Program will provide advanced level meal examples as well as a simplified versions. The advanced examples will cut back on things like salt, processed food, and provide vegetarian alternatives while avoiding sugar and sugar alternatives. I provide alternatives because I want everyone to be successful. Plant based meals with an emphasis on protein are gaining in popularity due to health benefits through physical, mental, and disease prevention. No worries though if the vegetarian alternatives aren’t for you, I provide both meat and plant based meal examples.
Calories and Nutrition
How you approach calories and your fitness path will be so important. Timing will be as important as the calorie strategy. If you don’t give yourself enough time, you won’t get the proper results in a healthy way. Start a healthy life as soon as you can to get the full benefits- if you haven’t already. The different types of calories fall under fat, alcohol, carbohydrates and protein.
I like to prevent alcohol being a large contributor in your diet.
Fat has a great place in your diet- and while it’s called “Fat”, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will make you fat. I will teach, and provide you the list of foods that will be perfect for your fitness plan.
Carbohydrates are the biggest point of discussion in the fitness World these days. There is definitely a time and place for them, as well as a structured way to use them to your advantage for ultimate weight loss.
Protein is the building block for muscle retention and/or gaining muscle. Whether you eat vegetarian or meat based meals, we will focus on incorporating this macro into your daily life.
